Living in Georgia or moving to Georgia might be for you, but where to?

There are 5 Cities to look into when thinking about making the move. So let's look into the 5 most affordable cities in Georgia.

Peaches, pecans, and the southern accent are probably not the only reasons why people decide to move to Georgia!

Over the last couple of years, a lot of people decided to move to Georgia and the number one reason was the "AFFORDABILITY" compared to other states across the nation. I'll show you the top five most affordable cities when it comes to moving to Georgia.

Coming in at number #5 of the most affordable cities when moving to Georgia is one of two cities that are located in Cobb County Georgia which is Marietta.

Downtown Marietta Georgia

Marietta is just located northwest of Atlanta,  the median income in Marietta Georgia is $42,688 with a median home price of $206,800. Marietta is very proud of its southern charm, the focal point of the city of Marietta is the Historic Marietta Square with oak trees, bandstands, casibos, and fountains in clover park and surrounded by stores, shops, and over 30 restaurants.

If you would like to take that all in as a visitor you can either take a trolley tour or you're gonna do one of those manual foot pedal pedicabs to take you around Marietta and see the beauty of the city.

Coming in at number #4 on the list of the most affordable cities in Georgia is Smyrna Georgia,

Smyrna Georgia

Smyrna is also located in Cobb County and sandwiched between Marietta and Atlanta. Very close to the Atlanta Metro. Smyrna has really come to its own over the last couple of years, with a very healthy median income of $61,888 and a median home price of $208,900, which is still very cheap considered other states or cities that are close to Smyrna.

To keep up with the extremely high demand and growth of the city, they had to come up with some kind of solution! So they opened up the Market Village Development which is a mixed-use development, mixed-use between commercial and residential. This development features restaurants, retail stores, offices as well as residential areas.

Smyrna is also the beginning of the Silver Comet Trail, which is a non-motorized trail and is 61.5 miles long. The trail begins in Smyrna and ends on the Georgia-Alabama state line. How amazing is that?! If you're an outdoor person and you want to go on a hike or you just want to use a trail you could actually walk 61.5 miles all the way to Alabama. Due to the quality of life and the cost of living off Smyrna, this city came in at number four of the most affordable cities in the state of Georgia!

#3 on the list is Gainesville Georgia,

The Historic Market Square in Gainesville Georgia

it's northeast of Atlanta and close to Lake Lanier. Gainesville Georgia has a couple of nicknames like "The Queen City Of The Mountain", "Hospitality Capital Of The World" as well as Poultry Capital Of The World the poultry capital of the world is probably because they have a lot of processing plants up there in Gainesville Georgia.

If you are a boater, fisherman, or water sports enthusiast Gainesville Georgia might be the place to be! You have it right there lake lanier, if you are not into that water stuff, boating and catching those slippery fish and water sports in general then there is still something to do for you,

If you are a nature lover Gainesville is still a good place to live and if you love arts Gainesville is definitely a place to be with the Art Council and the Quinlan Visual Arts Center is a must-visit.

The median income in Gainesville Georgia is around $40,159  which is a very specific number and the median home price is about $50,000 cheaper than in Smyrna or Marietta which is $150,700.

We arrived at the top two most affordable cities when it comes to moving to Georgia

#2 Is Duluth, Duluth is also northeast of Atlanta and again sandwiched between Gainesville we just covered and Atlanta.

City of Duluth Georgia

Duluth became very popular for people who did want to be close to the Metro Atlanta area but did not want to be too close to Atlanta. They wanted to be close to shopping but live outside of Atlanta and that's what Duluth became very popular for.

A lot of people moved out of the metro area and moved toward Duluth! Duluth is a city in Gwyneth County with a median income of $60,161 again very specific but if you think about that the median income is pretty much right there where Marietta and Smyrna are at. But the median home price is way cheaper in Duluth and that's probably one reason why a lot of people moved out of the metro area and moved toward Duluth!

If you're thinking about moving to Georgia but you want to be close to Atlanta maybe Duluth is exactly what you are looking for?! In the past, the railroad industry was a very big driving factor for the city of Duluth and the Southeastern Railroad Museum celebrates this every year. Duluth is also the home of the very popular and famous Fall Festival as well as the Art Walk and the Duluth Historical Museum, so if those are things you are interested in taking a look at Duluth might be the place for you!

And if you look into moving to Georgia, Duluth with its pretty high median income and its pretty low median home price is probably a good option so close to Atlanta.

And #1 goes to Warner Robins, Warner Robins in Houston County south of Atlanta and south of Macon.

Robins is home to the Robins Air Force Base one of the largest employers in Georgia and this gives people who are thinking about moving to Georgia a lot of job opportunities! In general Warner Robins is known for its aviation history and its relationship to servicemen and women, Warner Robins has an amazing Museum of Aviation which you should definitely visit if you ever make it to Warner Robins. It's actually free but I would suggest you give a little bit of a donation to the museum so they can keep up the good work!

Warner Robins is also home to the Georgia Aviation Hall Of Fame, and Robins Air Force Base is also home to one out of three Air Force Air Logistics Centers. At the moment the median income in the Warner Robins area is about $46,123 and the median home price is about $136,000, this is compared to the other four cities very, very cheap!

You have to know that Warner Robins is very widespread and there are multiple areas that have different median home prices, there is Byron, Centerville, Bonaire, Kathleen, and then a little bit further out the city of Perry, which are all pretty close together but the median home price in those areas are drastically different.

Warner Robins has actually one of the highest health indexes in the state of Georgia and that's probably because there are a lot of golf courses, there is the Wellston Trail where people can hike and walk and all those other attractions that are in Warner Robins.

With a lot of job opportunities in the area, Amazon Distribution Center, Northrop Grumman, Robins Air Force Base, Coca-Cola, and Frito-Lays a lot of people just decided to move to Warner Robins because of the cost of living down here as well as the quality of life is better than in any other city in Georgia.
